‘Tis the season to be jolly

Within the next few weeks, we will all be celebrating Christmas. This unique moment strikes out the current year and allows us to come together and celebrate. It is already time to play your Christmas music; get in the mood and get ready for the holidays! Here are some ideas that are sure to bring Christmas magic into your home!

Christmas Party’s Little Tale

Christmas is originally a Roman festival, celebrated in the night of December 24 to 25. “Christmas” comes from the Latin “natalis,” meaning “native,” and commemorates Jesus Christ’s birth. Although today it is no longer celebrated as much as a religious holiday, the festivities surrounding Christmas are numerous. This festive period is enjoyed by young and old alike.

Now more associated with folklore, Christmas means family gatherings around a hearty meal and the exchange of gifts under the tree. Various traditions started around Christmas, such as lighting the outside of our homes.

For A Festive Home

A well-decorated house, ready to receive your guests, is a must for an holiday atmosphere. Some must-haves will quickly put your home in Christmas mode, starting with your tree. Whether natural or artificial, the Christmas tree will be one of the central elements of your decor. Be sure to do it in a common room, such as a living room or dining room, so that it can be lit up in front of your guests. Make sure to leave room for Santa Claus to place his gifts under the tree!

Wrap garlands and streamers around stair railings and doorways. Hang Christmas stockings in front of the fireplace. Hang lights and branches of wood to your windows to create a “Christmas at the chalet” look that will immerse your rooms in a soft and cozy atmosphere.

Outside, hang a wreath on your door. Let your imagination run wild when it comes to installing your lights. Whether they are in your trees, around your windows or on your fence, the essential thing is to have a house lit up for the holidays. Add some festive elements that you can find in superstores. If you are a DIY (“Do It Yourself”) enthusiast, make your decorative ornaments. The Pinterest application is a goldmine for DIY decorating ideas. Look at it and get inspired!

Think Big!

You are the one hosting the family Christmas celebrations this year, and you want everything to be perfect. To impress your guests, be creative and set up a beautiful and inviting table. Place some decorative elements on your tablecloth in holiday colours. Mistletoe leaves, candles, sequins, and Christmas ornaments will set the tone to your evening.

Place some poinsettias on your table. This red houseplant is typical in the holiday season. Be careful not to choose them too imposing, so as not to limit your guests’ view. Also be careful that your little furry animals or young children do not bite into one of the flowers, as they are poisonous.

Since the holiday season sometimes pushes us to go a little over the top, take your time on presentation. Choose Christmas-themed decorative plates and napkins. Try to create a single, large table to celebrate this annual family gathering

All that is left for us to do is to wish you a wonderful holiday season. Take advantage of these festive moments to recharge your batteries with family and friends. From our family to yours, happy holidays!
